This was one of my fav movies in early high school. I really didn’t understand the comments or controversy with Eric and Bridget’s relationship or the fact they slept together, it bothered me when I’ve known hundreds of girls who were sexually active underage, they slept with guys their age or older I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but it happens constantly, I feel like this storyline was opening up eyes that is does happen. Bridget was running from her problems, she hadn’t fully understood or grieved her mothers death and she thought by being with someone intimately it would fix her problems, but someone young doesn’t have the skills to understand sex doesn’t fix things. Eric did stop her and tried putting a stop to it. I really thought the end scene between them was sweet, she made it clear she was running from her problems, and Eric made the effort to try and find her and not make her feel like she’s worthless or what they did together meant nothing, the rate of a guy doing that for you after sleeping with him is 0 🤣 so I thought it was really nice. People aren’t perfect, movies aren’t perfect but they show the imperfect storyline’s of imperfect people who are living and learning just like all of us :)

I actually liked the final scene between Bridget and Eric. Some people criticized it saying that Eric shouldn't be redeemed. Bridget consented with what she did with him, but there was a power dynamic there and Eric acknowledged and took accountability for it. I thought it was a touching scene.

Girl would have been better with a real man like Charles Bingley.

Such a great actor..you loved him in sense and sensibility..and hated him in Kevin Costner's Robin hood..and cemented his great acting ability in harry potter... such a great loss..

I just watched the movie for the first time, and I LOVE their relationship, I had to cry because I felt so bad for colonel at some points and also because of the fact that Alan is dead. I really want to read the book now. Such a great movie!! Rest in peace Alan rickman🙏🏼

Alan Rickman maravilhoso como sempre... e que voz!!! Ainda te amo.

I just love how this song is so so relatable to their relationship, or growth of. Like Marianne was at her wits end when Willoughby rejected her and Brandon was still regretting what had happened to him before, to a point at his own wits end. And yet, both people's difficulties bring them together and they have what's left of each other, but in a positive way. Yes, I am back watching this again because it's a yearly ritual :'-)

I miss Alan Rickman, a lot. His voice, his acting ability and his marvelous sculptured face.
